PANTONE Colour 2018

Happy New Year 2018 from us all at James & Wallis.

Introducing Ultra Violet the Pantone colour of the year 2018, its illuminating hue fascinates and intrigues.

Colour plays a leading role in design from what we wear to the interior of our property. Our seasons are defined by colour, it can effect our mood, behaviour and and the way we experience our homes.

The Pantone Colour Institute is a consulting service that forecasts global colour trends. They are recognised around the world as a leading source of colour information. They partner with global brands to leverage the power, psychology and emotion of colour in their design strategy.

“The Pantone Colour of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘whats trending’ in the world of design; its truly a reflection of whats needed in our world today.” – Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute.

Colour forecasters take into account lifestyle, design, technology, political, economical and environmental factors in the process of making predictions. They present a collection of colours in a palette following a complex research process, reflecting on and responding too our changing world.

Although media coverage has an impact it is ultimately consumers who decide which forecasts become trends.
